Another Poll! This one is slightly more complex - should player driveable vehicles be included in Multiplayer? Naturally the Dirt Bike will make its' appearance as both a class orientated object, a deathmatch pick-up and as a multiplayer mission specific item that is given to players. The biggest problem I'm facing theory wise is the large number of people that would like to be able to control the vehicles in Dh3 - however personally I believe that they should be kept to an absolute minimum. There are no vehicles in Dh3 SinglePlayer that the player can control other than the Dirt Bike. The options are simple; Yes, No, Not Sure and the two discussable options; As map objects in a scenario orientated mission; Certain player teams may be given a vehicle or set of vehicles that may affect the outcome of the mission objective or act as the mission objective itself. This means scenarios where a certain team is given a Patrol Vehicle or two to prevent an inflitration exercise over open terrain, or even a set of APCs given to a team to cover ground quickly. More extreme variations could include armoured convoy escort scenarios and tank assaults, as well as assaulting fortified positions. The other possibility is that the said vehicles are lying around in maps and can be commandeered by the side that nicks them, then used. When destroyed theymay / may not return to their original spawn point - say a preset tank factory, where the doors open and it rolls out fresh and new Anyway, it's up to you, the players and the dev team to sort this one out!

Definately include driveable vehicles, it'd be a waste not to Vehicles add a lot of fun to any multiplayer mix They should be easy to handle though, not like BF1942 ones (are fun, but too difficult to get the hang of). We are not making a vehicle sim here. Objective specific ones may be the way to go though.

Yeah, it would certainly be a bit of a waste of HL2 vehicle code to ignore them completely Although I'm swaying towards perhaps including a couple of hijackable civilian autos in the singleplayer scenarios too - just as a possibility. In multiplayer it could prove difficult to get a nice balance. However I've been thinking of perhaps using a captureable zone system, where certain areas of the map would belong to a team in a team Vs team game (possibly only CtF and Team Vs Team Objectives) where a tank factory or light vehicle factory would be, churning out a replacement vehicle when the last one was destroyed. It's just an idea mind, i'm not entirely sure how well it would be implemented. Perhaps just having a handful of vehicles in team Vs team objective based mode would be better

With the notable exception of aircraft. We won't be having the use of them at all due to the engine. You'll get to ride in them and see them mind ;D
