I'll be able to teach you -some-stuff, but I basically just got off the tuts. as well. I did manage to make the fly, but i had a lot of help from the C3 bootsrap folder. Sorry guys, I was wrong that it would take me a day to finish the pesticide spray.I'm stuck on how to kill the bugs so that they use their die animations. Its so confusing!

Thanks for the offer. That would be great. By the way I get ALLMOST everything I do from the bootstrap as well (Its SO complicated thats allmost the only way)

Talk about it. You can now get the .cos files on my website. www.freewebs.com/liamlala . I mean, its got the cos file for the fly, (or it will have) and it has the currently being worked on cos file for the spray. If you have any new files or stuff E-mail them to me at liamesler@hotmail.com and i'll put them on the site. Ambershee can host the pictures and I'll host the files, if you want.Keep checking back there for other stuff to appear, like that tutorial about how to use the map editor and if its alright with -AJ- might do a tutorial explaining how to make the basic fly, then a more advanced one explaning how to make it die in time. *Phew* What do you think? We-eelll, I know some CAOS, and I can do basic 3d graphics. I'd be glad to lend a helping hand here and there. I'm not often on these forums - I have enough to handle as it is. So if you need to contact me, do so via MSN or email at nornagon@hotmail.com.
What I'd really like to do is learn to use the room editor - I'd be happy to give that a shot.

THIRD UPDATE: (there were two before that I deleted) ok, your problem is that you can't say 'elif' when you arn't in a 'doif' allready (you arn't you are just in the script) so all you have to do if change 'elif' to 'doif' then because it will nolonger have a 'endi' you have to add one of those too. plus all the dieing animations in between.
If you were intending the 'elif' to be a part of a 'doif' that accentadly got a 'endi' allready or something, It doesn't really make any difference anyways. (execpt that it wouldn't get called if one of the 'doif''s or 'elif''s conditions had allready returned true).

I made all these sprites with mainly Adobe Phostshop, and a little Paint Shop pro. I got some lessons in school where we learned the basics like working with layers and such, but i'm mainly self-tought (lol, i find new things in both the programms every now and then ^_^) I learned alot when I coverted lots of pokémon sprites from the games for gameboy and gameboy color into the grapics the gameboy advance is useing. Um Yeah, I'm a pokémon freak, like it or not. I don't think pokémon is a game for kids Heh, this is how i think of pokémon BTW. yeah i got them. NICE PICTURES!! I have done ALOT of work on the fly!! IT nolonger sort of hovers there and im on my way to adding a whole bunch of new features like: searching for mates and food, breeding, passing genes down each generation. Yay! You're getting much better! BTW, I was thinking, is there a chemical you can inject into a fly or stinger or Bee to make it die? If not, we could create one in the spare slots (I think)and AJ, Try getting a trial version of 3D Studio Max, because its supposed to be one of the best 3d programs ever. There is also a tutorial for making images at GE's site. Sorry, but I'm on a library comp. at the moment so I can't give you the links....sorry.. Liamlala PS. Is there anything you guys want done in 3D? because we -could- ask nornagon to do it....If he wants to...And AJ, pokemon is -very cool- I've got all the game's.

I don't think you can inject chemicals into agents. Im am pretty sure that only creatures have 'biochemestrys' so to do that you would have to make the fly a new species of creature. My plan was for the clouds to have a timer with 'etch 2 14 70001 mesg writ targ 1001 next' this scripts should call my 'death' script in all the flys touching the cloud or you could do 'rnge 10 esee 2 14 70001 mesg writ targ 1001 next' which would kill all flys within 10 pixles of the cloud. The 'death' script DOES work in 'improves-fly vr 2' so if you inject some flys the type 'enum 2 14 70001 mesg writ targ 1001 next' ALL the flys in your game willl fall to the ground and die!!

I haven't been here for a while. (coursework etc.) but I'm here now.
To AJ- I would say 3D studio max too. That's what they used to make the official creatures sprites. Bit of an expensive program though. And I agree with you about pokemon, I still play it. (go Scyther!)
To theblog- Welcome! I see you're doing some good work already, This might actually work!
I'm playing around with things at the moment, I'll post if I create anything. If we can get Nornagon to help, it would be really good. He has done some really good work in the past.

Go to nct.discreet.com/fulfill/0049.009/thankyou and fill in the mandatory fields (if you dont feel comfortable make it all up butyour e-mail address) then download it from the link you get in your e-mail. I advise you get a good download manager if you don't have broadband because you cant stay on the internet for like, 10 hours, can you? Also make the downoald manager has a stop/start feature. I am also getting it, so we should be able to get the agent'sgraphics done faster and I'll be able to update some graphics, like to make the fly and the coral just slightly more 3d- no offence AJ, the graphics are fine, its just that they look just slightly 2-d.I wa s also thinking, you know how the flies will probably have genes? Well, why don't we have necessary genes like, mating, eating, and things like that, and then have other genes that could be mutated and changed? also , what if even the plants had these so-called, 'genes'? that would mean that if we kept doing that, we would have an amazing, ever-changing room. It also fits in with the hologram idea... And school started today. So I will be fairly busy with that sort of stuff, I will try to do as much as i can here. I know my priorities, So here they are; Finish Biodome Finish anything creatures related Maybe go to school if I fell like it. Do homework. lol Liamlala

By 'genes' I meen variables that will be passed down from parent(s) to child(s). These variables would control things like... well whatever we want really but here are some ideas for the flys: speed (some flys will, on avarage fly faster) number of children (some flys will have more or less children) the degrees to which a drive (so far hunger and sex dirves) needs to be fulfilled before it is considered unimportant. colo(u/e)r (If one of you guys can make flys of several different colors!! : randomness in flying (make jumpy flys ) distance away wich the fly can see (the fly will (future tence ie. not yet) go to an object that it thinks will help sate a drive that is curently high. this is how its brain will work!!) Length of time the fly has to wait, after being born, before being able to breed. Length of the flys life (this one can change quite a lot!!) plus what ever any body else sugests!!! All of these genes would 'mutate' or 'change' a bit when passed down. plz keep in mind that these 'genes' are nothing like the genes of creatures that you edit with the 'genome editor' or what-not they are variables in the CAOS code that are added to the baby fly when it is made. Also the flys have NO biochemstry so, to kill them, you do not 'inject' them with a chemical, but execute a CAOS code ('mesg writ targ 1001') on them that causes THEIR CAOS code to execute the CAOS code that activates the dying animation, makes them fall to the flour, and slowly fade away. Complicated huh? having ALL the plants and animals in 'the biodome' have genes would really make it something special. not even half of the C3/DS plants and animals have genes! this touch would really make it a 'bio'dome eh. UPDATE: anybody know whats going on with A2K i can't access their stie right now. mabey they got hacked again. lol
